Every excursion is never devoid of problem. Lesson must also be learnt.

Our first excursion with our new principal was both happening and unexpected, to say the least. We were suppose to meet at the rendezvous point (RP), but no one did any time-keeping as we thought, "lets give the new principal a breather. Let her lead, we follow."

Silly enough, no one thought to keep track of time.

We took the children to a nearby watering station to rest and do some toileting. We were near the RP. We can see her (the principal). We assumed nothing. Once everyone is back, we proceed to the RP. All went south from here.

As we make our way to the RP, my principal (waiting for us at the gantry of the RP) was raising her voice at us, in public, "You don't know where to meet? You know where to meet?!" repeatedly.

5 teachers and 2 parent-volunteers exchanged looks of confusion. By then, my ego bruised. I could not believe what I'm witnessing. So embarrassing!

We only realized the issue during debriefing - she had assumed we purposely gather at the water station and out to delay time.

After that sharing session, we realized that there was NO time-keeper for this particular excursion. And that everyone had taken each other for granted. It was definitely an eye-opener.

As much I want to blame her (my principal) for such mess, it begged the question - why did i not volunteer myself? Why cant i take that initiative to remind everyone the time? Why? Why?
